Stonelick State Park
Stonelick State Park
Stonelick State Park was awesome and worth the trip whether the weather is sunny or a slight drizzle. We will definitely be coming back to this park again. Below is a brief bio.
Our first official STAMP in our Park Passport! We have started our mini blogging journey. This blog is really just something to document our adventures, crafts, and field guides we make along the way.
Prepared with bottles of water, our "adventure phone" for documenting interesting things along the way we started out our adventure in the middle of a light drizzle. Rain doesn't stop us, especially with hats and hoods to keep us dry..ish.
We started down a path heading towards the lake when we found out that it is actually a popular park for disc golf. My mini photographer wanted to take a picture of one of the discs. We made sure not to touch it! That is when we found a trail (and looped around this mini trail a few times), whoops! Let's just say, we didn't technically "go far" but it was fun!
Here are a few of our favorite things to bring in our "adventure" book bag:- binoculars
- zip lock baggies (for collecting specimens, or in other words cool looking things!)
- markers
- pencils
- waterproof clipboard (we have scavenger hunts -TONS here- and a print out of the park map)
- snacks (hey, I am traveling with hungry little vacuums!!)
- PARK PASSPORT (Get yours here!)
"Tucked away in the rolling hills of southwest Ohio, Stonelick State Park's 1,058 acres offer a quiet retreat for visitors. The still waters of the lake and tranquil woodlands provide the perfect setting for a host of outdoor recreational pursuits. Camping, boating, fishing, disc golf, swimming, hiking and picnicking are some of the fun and relaxing activities here." provided by OhioDNR.
