Elf goes on a #guentheradventure

Elf goes on a #guentheradventures and here is the plan....

We have never done Elf on the Shelf and while our kids are still young (4 years old and 2 years old) and I consider myself to be slightly crafty... I was never excited to do Elf on the Shelf.

2020 however, is a different story. Below I am posting our plan, the MASTER schedule, and I will update pictures as Elf goes on his adventures through the house and backyard.

PREDICTION: ELF's name will be ELF.

FINAL: ELF's name is JAMI!

December 1st: Elf Arrives

Plan: We are going to place Elf in a small white gift box decorated and filled with green wrapper Hershey kisses. He will have a note on the top of the box that says a Special Delivery has arrived from the north pole for the Guenther Family! The printable is free at the link above.

We actually had Elf "Jami" bring two helper elves with her from the North Pole to collect snuggles and playtime. It was decided since my little one loves to play with his stuffies and since we cannot touch Jami or she looses her Christmas magic, we have helper elves! (E named his Scar due to minor sewing surgery and he also named B's - Socky.)

December 2nd: Elf starts a Tree Sale

Plan: We are going to purchase Christmas Tree Cakes (Little Debbies) and make a sign that says "trees for sale." Unfortunately, we will have the eat the trees after that... YAY!

December 3rd: Elf needs a Band Aid

Plan: Simple and all you need are some band aids. We will place Elf next to the sink in the bathroom and put band aids all over him, the wall, and counter. I think he needs more first aid practice!

December 4th: Elf Twister

Plan: Use cardstock and make a mini twister board called "ELF TWIST" and then attempt to plan him on blue hand and green foot. I hope Elf is flexible!

December 5th: Elf takes a Train Ride

Plan: Using our train track, build a very cool track and incorporate some Christmas decorations. Then, place Elf on the train. I hope he holds on tight!

December 6th: Color with Elf

Plan: Draw Elf like a kid would and start to color him in before placing the crayon in Elf's hands. I think we will have some extra coloring sheets on hand to color after Elf is found.

December 7th: Elf does a Magic Trick

Plan: Elf leaves directions next to a bowl with two eggs (or water) and glitter sprinkles. "Add the magic dust to the eggs and see what they will change into over night!"

December 8th: Elf's Surprise

Plan: Replace the eggs (or water) with a surprise... chocolate eggs? Toy car? Paw Patrol mini?

What's in the box?!

December 9th: Elf starts a snowball fight

Plan: Set up the table: dusted lightly with powdered sugar or flour ad create two "walls" with mini marshmallows. Behind one of the "walls" have Elf and behind the other "wall" have his opponent! Possibly woody? Olaf? Attempt to have them throw marshmallows at each other.

December 10th: Elf climbs the Rock Wall

Plan: We will tape tootsie rolls or little bows on the wall mimicking a rock wall and have Elf start the climb! Hope he knows how to belay.

December 11th: Elf goes Slacklining

Plan: Use our Christmas countdown to allow Elf to try Slacklining. Hopefully, he has good balance!

What actually happened... OH CRAP, Marcus go move ELF, stick him in the blinds like he got stuck returning from the North Pole!!

December 12th: Elf Swings

Plan: Between two posts in our kitchen we are going to create a swing using two pieces of string and an empty toilet paper roll. After it is created, Elf can swing.

What actually happened... used yesterday's plan! Use our Christmas countdown to allow Elf to try Slacklining. Hopefully, he has good balance!

December 13th: Elf goes Fishing

Plan: Filling up a sink or bowl of water we will put little toy fish into the water. Creating a fishing pole using string and a toothpick Elf can catch a fish!

What actually happened... off track, but we will get back on track. He relaxed in a little pouch on his line.

December 14th: Elf Snowball Fight Part 2

Plan: Using two buckets fill them with crumbled-up paper snowballs and on a piece of paper write the words "rematch." Elf might have started the fight, but who will end it?

December 15th: sELFie

Plan: Put Elf next to the boys while they are sleeping and take a selfie. If possible, print the picture and have Elf holding the picture.

December 16th: Elf's surprise for Daddy

Plan: Have Elf holding a piece of paper and nail polish and then paint daddy's toes! On the note write, "I left your dad a funny treat, go find him now and look at his feet."

Feet pictures are not everyone's cup of tea, but Jami gave him pretty feet! I won't post it here, sorry!

December 17th: Elf's Rainbow Experiment

Plan: Place a plate next to Elf and line the plate with skittles and use all of the colors. Put a note next to the plate saying, "Just add warm water." It creates a rainbow effect!

December 18th: Elf gets Stuck

Plan: In the front window blinds, place Elf and a note saying, "On my way back from the North Pole, I had a few treats, and got stuck in the blinds to make sure you being kind." (Or something like that?)

What really happened... since we had accidentally done this one earlier since we had forgotten *faceslap* we decided to have Jami play a little hide and seek, see below.

December 19th: Elf makes Popcorn

Plan: Find a tiny cup and make some popcorn! Once popcorn has been made put some in the cup and next to Elf's hand. Place the remote next to his other hand. It's time for a movie night!

December 20th: Elf's toothpaste Mischief

Plan: Put Elf in the bathroom next to the sink holding the toothpaste tube. In the sink draw a smiling face!

December 21st: Elf makes Cookies

Plan: Elf plans a big surprise and a bowl full of cookie making supplies! Let's bake!

What really happened... we did cookies the day earlier the previous day, so Jami left a bowl of ornaments to paint with brushes and paint ready to go!

December 22nd: Camping with Elf

Plan: Create a tent using white card stock and string. Using toothpicks and paper make a mini fire for Elf to roast the mini marshmallows! I love a good s'more.

December 23rd: Elf feeds the Dinosaurs

Plan: Set Elf up higher with a tiny bowl of marshmallows or M&M's and a sign next to him saying "Don't feed the dinosaurs." On the table below have mini marshmallows or M&M's and dinosaurs all facing the Elf wanting more!

December 24th: Elf says Good-Bye

Plan: Elf leaves two disposable cameras next to the printable note before leaving for the North Pole!

It's Christmas time!
