Stonelick State Park - Riding Solo

Stonelick State Park - but this time without Marcus (he's the husband!) This was about to be a new experience!

“I’m always trying new things and learning new things.” by Morgan Freeman.

Hiking is not new. Taking the boys somewhere is not new. What was new? Why did this feel new taking the boys hiking by myself? Why did this feel nerve wracking or scary even? Was it because of being together so much during the shut down and quarantining parts of the pandemic? To be honest, I still don't really know, but what I do know is this.

We had an awesome time out on the trail together. The boys walked and rode in the carrier. They both carried their water packs and we put our sunscreen and hats on and off we went! We found cool sticks and stones, and they didn't break any bones!

Southwoods Trail is a favorite... there are too many amazing things to see and talk about. A bat box, different types of bridges, still and running water, and more. “[It’s better to look back on life and say, “I can’t believe I did that.” than to look back and say: “I wish I did that.]” by Unknown.

E counted the bridges and B found the birds!

We enjoyed spending that time together and doing it on our own. Hiking with the boys on my own seemed daunting and it almost made me pause and not do it. On the other hand I kept an internal debate alive, but maybe I could do it? “Don’t be afraid to try new things. They aren’t all going to work, but when you find the one that does, you’re going to be so proud of yourself for trying.” by Anonymous.

What is the takeaway? Do something new, step out of your comfort zone! We made memories and I got to spend time with my boys doing something we love and enjoy, adventuring on our #guentheradventures
