Shawnee State Park and Forest

**Post warning, there is both a picture of a snake and the discussion of the Timber Rattlesnake**

Shawnee State Park and Forest has been on our list forever. Don't worry we will talk snakes here in a few. First, I want to just tell you that if you have ever wanted to visit the Great Smoky Mountains, but if you can't leave Ohio, visit Shawnee State Park. OhioDNR describes, "The hills of Shawnee have also been dubbed "Ohio's Little Smokies. Looking toward the Ohio River, one can certainly see how the region acquired such a nickname.

Last, but not least the timber rattlesnake. As we were leaving the park we stopped in to see him at the Ranger's station. Very cool looking snake... but bye!
