Adventuring in 2022 (Part 3)
How do I write or better how do I best preserve a memory? Is there a best way? I tend to overdo things. I know this about myself, but I also enjoy taking a trip down memory lane. When you look back to your childhood, do you have videos? A photo album? Everything is online these days, but technology is constantly changing.. and fast. Will the things we do now still exist when the boys go take a trip down memory lane. So, how do I preserve a memory?
First, I take way too many pictures. But honestly, which ones could I have cut out?
The family photo on the trail.
B and I were walking slowly enjoying our hike together and look at this super cheese smile E has on his face!
I love bike rides and I feel we will only do it more and I need to spotlight dad's sweet wheels too!
The challenge: making the alphabet with sticks! Challenge accepted!
I know my dad might not be happy about this picture being shared.. but I am not sure anyone other than my reads these anyway so I am sharing an adorable memory he is making with B. Another super cheese smile for E because he is showing off his sweet pine cone collection.
How cool is that camper? I mean fire.. how cool is that fire?! It's changing colors.
Spending time together is my favorite part of any adventure. Blazin Thunder is making a lot of memories this year and many more to come.
Clifty Falls State Park (Indiana) was on our list. A list?! Yes... I have a list. Several lists. This list is a list of all of the hikes people post that I say, oh my gosh we have to go there, put it on the list!
(Did I use the word list enough!?)
Anyways, it decided to rain the day we made the trip out there, but eventually it cleared up.
A quick note for anyone interested in taking a trip out there, which I would recommend, there are stairs. A lot of stairs, everywhere. We went on three different trails and they all had stairs. Just keep it in mind!
Even in the rain, we were on a mission to have fun.
Did you say jump in the puddles?! JUMP!
I am thirsty, let's catch some rain!
Did I make them stand by the sign according to their age???
Yes... I did.
Trials: Great condition, well marked!
Views: Beautiful
Stairs: Not a favorite, but hey that's just us!
It was a fun #guentheradventures and then... we got pizza!
Quick, don't leave yet! I have one more story to share. We do travel for hikes.. thanks to my amazing driver, I am usually the "passenger princess," but should really be renamed "passenger slave to the rest of people in the car."
These are two hikes that I would recommend for any age because the rock formations and views are phenomenal. I will try not to repeat those phrases six more times with the next fifty pictures.
I can't believe how much these two boys have grown just from the beginning of 2022... times flies. Preserve those memories, but first MAKE those memories! Quick!
The trail was rocky, but mostly flat. It might be trickier after a good rain. This trail also had steps just to keep that in mind. Some of these pictures look almost 3D because of how cool the rock formations, trees, and lighting turned out. The boys spent a good ten minutes just climbing around these rocks. Don't underestimate letting the kids enjoy some rock climbing, it gives them a challenge to grow!
In honesty... I think I took ten pictures just of this passageway, but it still doesn't do it justice to show how cool it really was. Go check it out!
We are starting to arrive at the arch!! Nature is so cool... also do you see this tree just randomly deciding to not only grow out of the top of the arch but also in a curvy spicy fashion?!
We made it to the stairs which lead you under the arch.
At the bottom of the stairs the trail goes right, but if you look left than you can explore and see this really neat (see I didn't say cool again!) rock structure and cave entrance.
The view from the bottom of the stairs looking up at the arch.
Both of the boys enjoyed different sights and sounds. E was echoing in the cave and B found this rock that looks like a face!! SO COOL!
This family picture was so random and almost didn't happen, but both of the boys said "Mom, take a picture of us with the arch!" Well.. I did a great job didn't I?? I mean.. of us. Not so much with the arch.
Sometimes traveling a little distance to see something cool let's you learn a little something too?
Where is your next adventure taking you?
Stay tuned for Part 4 of Adventuring in 2022! #guentheradventures
