Adventuring in 2022 (Part 2)

Once upon a time, as all good stories begin. A family of four decides to go camping and they lived happily ever after. I mean, I'm not wrong! So if you missed part one a quick recap to our story is that life got busy (and fun!) and my poor blog was left back in 2022. We left off our story with the purchase of our camper, which I need to tell you we named..... BLAZIN' THUNDER!

Although to this day, daddy still tries to call it THUNDER BLAZE. Which does not sound near as good. We were taking trips this way and that, and we traveled to several different Ohio State Parks.

With lots of bike riding and swinging on the various playgrounds. It's a must. We also playing games in the camper, this one is pretty great it is CAMPING BINGO, linked here. We also liked to do fun things like drink our milk out of fancy glasses, come on we are high class over here.

Our next adventure took us to JURASSIC PARK!

This picture looks like a scene straight from the movie, doesn't it?

These pictures are a mix between two parks that we visited the same weekend. The first was Strouds Lake and the second was Lake Hope State Park. Lake Hope State park doesn't have a lot of trails as a state park, but is connected to different areas that are packed with trails! Strouds Lake was extremely impressive, I took way too many photos while we hiked at the park.

This cave type structure just doesn't do it justice in the picture, but for comparison look how small E is next to the outside of the cave.

These rock structures are just so cool. I'm rockin' them.

We climbed up and down, in and out of the caves and had a lot of fun exploring.

Is this picture not beautiful?! Even the plant life loves this park.

Of course the boys cooperated for a picture by the sign as well! I love those boys.

This next park(s) that I feature really deserve their own post because we hold this park near and dear to our hearts. For the first several years of our lives with the boys this was our "family vacation" spot. You know, when you get older and you say "Oh, we traveled there as a family every year. I love that place." Well, this is that place for us.

Welcome to Port Clinton, Ohio including Marblehead Lighthouse and Put-In-Bay.

I have pictures from so many years, who knows I may have blogged about it before, but here was another great year of memories for our family. Another family even offered to take this cute "almost" candid shot of us watching Lake Erie.

I think this classic selfie is going to start getting harder to take with these growing boys! Stop growing all ready!

A trip is not complete without a day in Put-in-Bay.

B is just living his best life! The golf cart is and always has been a huge highlight for the boys.

As well as the boat ride over (even though it is so loud!)

We made a visit to Perry's Cave and hiked on Benjamin's Trail. (They have an amazing trail system developing!) We also decided to visit the butterfly museum this year as well.

E is not sure about being this close to a butterfly.

This one loves daddy though! Me too!

I tried to hike as many of the trails as I could, it was a HOT year. We drove around a lot just to get a breeze at times.

The boys didn't want us to walk with them as they told secret stories at the LOCK fence. I like to think they were making some sort of amazing brotherly pact to always be there for each other and adventure together! Well.. that's what I think anyway!

There is never a shortage of brotherly love.

Always be there for each other, protect each other and love each other.

and I couldn't leave this one out... it makes me smile.

B wanted me to hold his hand so he could look at the water. #guentheradventures
