Mohican State Park is a MUST-SEE on the list of Ohio State Parks. It was beautiful. Now, fall is my favorite and therefore this time of year is my favorite to go around visiting parks, but this park has made my top three! This post is more of a shout out to the man that makes this all happen.  Here is a little backstory. When Marcus and I first started dating we loved to go drive around and explore new places. Sometimes we got out of the car, sometimes we just drove and talked. It was a fun time. Then we discovered Geocaching!    If you aren't familiar, look it up, it's modern day treasure hunting! We did that when we went on vacations, weekend getaways, and around town. We slowly stopped Geocaching as we had kids mostly just due to time and then taking kids or babies, isn't really a geocaching thing, at least not until they get a little older.   Along our adventures , we decided to make a field journal to document the places we have been and the memories we make along the way. You can use any notebook or journal, I will put the link to the journals we use down below if you like the look of what we use. They are small and easily portable. There isn't an exact plan for what we decide to draw or what we decide to capture as we write in our field journal. Between a four year old and what he thinks is memorable such as "watering trees" and what adults find memorable we just give him a pen and he decides what memories he wants to draw. Eventually our goal is to slowly incorporate writing as he gets older. First off, let me just say that there is really no "go to" adventure back pack. It will really depend on age, interest, and even location. Our adventure backpack always has a few "essential" items and then in addition and depending on how long the trip we plan or where we are we add a few extras.
